Last fall, days after the publication of my new book in Europe, I spoke to thousands of people live and online from the stage of the DPW conference in Amsterdam.
DPW’s team produced an amazing event with top-quality sound, lighting, and multi-camera recording of the mainstage.
DPW has just released this beautifully-edited video of my keynote speech that kicked off the entire conference.
In the speech, I discuss the Digital Transformation Roadmap and its implications for leaders in procurement, supply chain, and business at large.
I was honored to speak in Vietnam last week to the leadership of MBBank, and as the opening keynote of their “Digitize to Revolutionize” conference, for other leading Vietnamese businesses.
Chairman Luu Trung Thai explained how MB Bank had applied the frameworks of my last book (“The Digital Transformation Playbook” — a bestseller in Vietnamese) to launch a platform business model, turning their banking app into a digital marketplace for services from countless other businesses.
At the conference, I had the chance to speak to CEOs of automotive, telco, retail, industrial goods, insurance, and other financial service companies.
With both audiences, I shared the key insights from my new book “The Digital Transformation ROADMAP” — which will be published in Vietnamese in January.
I was invited to speak on leadership in the digital era as part of the Wharton School’s “Leadership in Action” program on Sirius XM radio. I had a great, and wide-ranging conversation with Ann Greenhalgh.
Our conversation was in two parts, and I’ve included here links to the summary, audio and transcript for each part.
With the audiobook now out for “The Digital Transformation Roadmap”, and many folks teaching the book in college classes, I wanted to share a PDF version of the book’s tools for all my newsletter subscribers.
About the Tools
I include 8 strategic planning tools in the book. These are meant to give you the practical means of applying the DX Roadmap framework yourself.
These tools do not offer “the answers” to digital transformation. Instead, they are designed to pose the crucial questions that will guide you to the right answers for your particular organization.
Each tool should be applicable whatever your role in digital transformation (DX)—whether you are the CEO, directing digital strategy for a business unit, leading a function like Marketing or HR, or part of a team designing a new digital product or experience. This is because for DX to truly work, it must happen at every level of the organization, and in every business function.
Each of these 8 tools is based on my experience advising firms and has been iterated and tested with organizations around the world and in different industries.
But the point is that you do not need me to put them to work. I hope you find them helpful!

When embarking on a digital transformation (DX) effort for any business, it is critical to engage your key stakeholders for organizational change.
I often find that digital leaders will stress the importance of working closely with your IT department (for technology) and your HR department (for talent).
But what about the rest of the organization?
Throughout “The Digital Transformation Roadmap,” I argue that real transformation requires the involvement of every business unit, and of every business function.
What about a decidedly non-sexy, non-customer-facing business function… like procurement?
What does procurement have to do with digital transformation?
David was featured in the Financial Times speaking about the sharp rise in prices for streaming media–what’s behind it, and where the industry may be heading.

NEW BOOK: “The Digital Transformation Roadmap: Rebuild Your Organization for Continuous Change” https://amzn.to/41U85dl
I am thrilled to share news with you of my next book, the product of years of research, learning alongside business leaders, and countless hours of (re)writing: “THE DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION ROADMAP: Rebuild Your Organization for Continuous Change”
I have just received the final digital files that were transmitted to the printers… meaning that the book is on its way to warehouses around the world!
THANK YOU to the numerous business leaders I’ve intersected with over the years—in the classroom, in the board room, and onstage at events. This book would not have been possible without the questions you raised, the experiences you shared, and the invitations to collaborate and advise you on your own journeys of digital transformation.
A small favor?
If you are considering buying the book—for yourself, your team, your boss, your spouse—please go ahead and pre-order the book right now on Amazon.
Yes, it won’t ship for a few more weeks, but… as any author will tell you, it is a BIG DEAL for the launch of a new book how many of its initial orders are placed BEFORE the publication date. (Trust me, it’s all about the algorithms)
